Production at PCC EXOL gets an A+!

Production at PCC EXOL gets an A+!

The Company achieved a sensational result in the audit for compliance with the EFfCI federal GMP scheme.

PCC EXOL SA is the first and only in Poland manufacturer of cosmetic ingredients that certifies its production installations for compliance with the GMP EFfCI Good Manufacturing Practices system. This system requires the implementation and application of extremely restrictive requirements specified by the EFfCI (European Federation for Cosmetic Ingredients).

On 25-26 October this year, the auditing company SGS carried out another audit of the implementation and application of the federal GMP Good Manufacturing Practices standard for cosmetic ingredients at PCC EXOL. No non-conformities were identified during the audit and no corrective actions were recommended. The production of raw materials for the cosmetics industry at the Company’s audited facilities is exemplary. This proves that the Company is fully ready to manufacture and supply its customers with the highest quality, safe ingredients and chemical formulations for the production of cosmetics.

The GMP certificate is one of the key attributes for PCC EXOL, as it confirms that we meet the highest standards at every stage of the production of cosmetic semi-finished products, from the purchase of raw materials to the delivery to the customer. The federal certificate of Good Manufacturing Practices is a reliable and objective proof of the quality and safety of raw materials for cosmetic manufacturers in Europe and around the world. Apart from economic aspects, it is one of the most important criteria for qualifying suppliers of cosmetic raw materials.

Good Manufacturing Practice is a set of activities defined to ensure the correct manufacturing process of products, their repeatability and homogeneity, through strict supervision over the production process. In order to ensure the quality and safety of raw materials and additives for cosmetics, in 2000 the European Union established in its structures the European Federation for Cosmetic Ingredients, uniting producers of natural and synthetic components for the production of cosmetics and personal care products.

In 2005, a special Working Group established within the Federation developed the first set of guidelines covering the principles of Good Manufacturing Practices for producers of cosmetic ingredients. The detailed guide prepared by the Federation is based on the ISO 22716 standard. The provisions of the GMP EFfCI Guide have been adapted to the specificity of the production of raw materials for the cosmetics industry. The Federation’s guidelines quickly became the official set of good practices in the production of cosmetic ingredients. Currently, certification in the federated variant of GMP can be obtained in countries in Europe, Asia and the Americas. The European Federation for Cosmetic Ingredients is therefore a global organisation that sets standards of good manufacturing practices for raw materials for the production of cosmetics.
