PCC EXOL SA extends its portfolio of surfactants, certified in accordance with the RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil) standard, thus emphasising its involvement in the promotion and development of sustainable economy of palm oil and its derivatives in Europe and across the world.
Currently, the company offers its customers about 100 chemicals with the RSPO Mass Balance certificate, produced on the basis of raw materials being sustainable palm oil derivatives. They mainly include cosmetic components and detergents intended for household, industrial and institutional use.
RSPO-certified products contribute to sustainable production of palm oil in the entire supply chain – from oil palm cultivation to consumer goods. Thus, they meet the requirements for sustainable development of the Company’s customers.
As one of the first certified RSPO members representing the chemical industry in Poland, we emphasise our support for the production of sustainable palm oil. Through the certification of our products and the obligations assumed under the RSPO policy, we support our customers in providing consumers with people- and environmentally-friendly products – says Dariusz Ciesielski, President of the Management Board of PCC EXOL.
We want to offer more and more RSPO-certified products. Today, we already have more than 100 of them, but we intend to gradually develop this offer to include other raw materials for the industry, based on certified palm oil and its derivatives. Here, we mainly mean products based on high-quality fatty alcohols from which we produce our surfactants – adds Rafał Zdon, Vice President of the Company’s Management Board.
PCC EXOL produces chemicals based on palm kernel oil and its derivatives as well as palm oil derivatives, for cosmetic products, detergents, cleaning agents and industrial applications. Most of the company’s RSPO-certified products are based on palm kernel oil and its derivatives as well as, to a lesser extent, palm oil.
RSPO-certified surfactants are also used in technical applications for industrial use, e.g. for the production of superplasticisers, emulsifiers for emulsion polymerisation processes or additives in plant protection.
RSPO is the name of the product certification system and, at the same time, the “Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil” organisation. The RSPO’s mission is to transform the market so that the use of ecological palm oil becomes the norm in the entire supply chain – from palm plantation to mills, refineries and producers of chemicals, to finished products for the end users. The main goal, effectively pursued by the RSPO, is the promotion of the use of palm oil originating from such territories which do not contribute to the impoverishment of environmental values nor in any way negatively influence the population connected with the oil palm cultivation territories. The RSPO is the first and only certification system which allows, through the use of appropriate marking, to distinguish products with palm oil (food products, cosmetics, biofuels and other products) originating from plantations which did not contribute to the deterioration of natural ecosystems and which do not negatively influence them, and the population connected with these areas preserved their traditions and culture.
PCC EXOL has held the RSPO MB certificate since 2014.
